Exploring Personality Disorders

Today you will be assigned to read a case study of one of the following personality disorders; Anti-social, Borderline and Narcissistic. (Note, on the website Anti-social disorder is called "psychopath."

Click on the heading above to go to a website with case studies of each of these disorders. Use the case studies to EXTRAPOLATE (figure out) the specific symptoms of your assigned disorder. For example, if the case study says "Julie brags about herself, is not interested in others, and believes herself to be more important than others," you could say a symptom is SELF-IMPORTANCE or being SELF-CENTERED.

Post a blog listing the symptoms you have come up with for your assigned disorder.

Grading Criteria:

1) Post a blog for your assigned disorder that lists at least 8 of its symptoms.
2) Read at least one blog for EACH of the disorders and respond to its author.

(You will have a minimum of four posts by the end of the period.)

3) Use academic language with correct spelling and grammar.

would charlie sheen count as narcissistic?!?

Narcissistic:
They can suffer with physical, mental, and occupational restrictions. Many of the narcissists are over-achievers and ambitious. Feel self-important and demand to be recognized at a higher level then others. They basically act like a little kid twenty four seven. Some people even start seeing delusions or hallucinations rather then what is actually there. Most of them even experience fear and pain.

To add on to Eric's comment, Jesse.
Anti-Social people turn of the remorse of their brain. That is why they don't show any sympathy to those they hurt.

My mom thinks she can call me whenever she wants because she's narcissistic. She shows symptoms of paranoia because my sister is dumb.

Jesse, You said narcissists are never obnoxious, but I think I would find it obnoxious to be around a person who thinks the world revolves around them and who doesn't care about others.

I think charlie Sean would count as a narcissistic because he has been crazy both on and of television lately.
