Implicit AssociationsTest

We've been talking in class about how prejudice develops. Today we'll do an activity that will help us explore the difference between explicit and implicit prejudice. Click on the title above and explore the Implicit Associations Test. You may explore multiple topics.

After exploring the website do the poll on the right-hand side then post a comment explaining your answer. Then you can reply to other people's comments.

As always, your initial post should use academic language with correct spelling and grammar.

Exploring Personality Disorders

Today you will be assigned to read a case study of one of the following personality disorders; Anti-social, Borderline and Narcissistic. (Note, on the website Anti-social disorder is called "psychopath."

Click on the heading above to go to a website with case studies of each of these disorders. Use the case studies to EXTRAPOLATE (figure out) the specific symptoms of your assigned disorder. For example, if the case study says "Julie brags about herself, is not interested in others, and believes herself to be more important than others," you could say a symptom is SELF-IMPORTANCE or being SELF-CENTERED.

Post a blog listing the symptoms you have come up with for your assigned disorder.

Grading Criteria:

1) Post a blog for your assigned disorder that lists at least 8 of its symptoms.
2) Read at least one blog for EACH of the disorders and respond to its author.

(You will have a minimum of four posts by the end of the period.)
